I received unbelievable support from my personal and professional network and, as a result, have also been able to support those closest to me.

As I continued to move through this “new reality” I came to realise that I now want to help you.

I was brought up in the North West of England and lived a full and happy life, packed with travel, sports and fun. But my life took an unexpected turn at the age of 35…

Facing your own mortality with a young family at the age of 35 was a very traumatic experience, not just for me, but for those around me – family, friends and colleagues.

My initial prognosis was cancer of the colon, which had spread/metastasised to the liver. After initially being told I had less than a year to live, I have managed to not just survive my initial prognosis but have also discovered a happier and more enjoyable life as a result.

Since my diagnosis I’ve had over 135 rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy (which continues to this day), I’ve had over 44 tumours removed from my body, two rounds of radiotherapy and over 18 operations.

But, most importantly, cancer does not define me.  However, in many ways, it has made me stronger and has made me appreciate how I want to be and what I need to do to get there.
